The First BKC Staff Show: Peep your fav teacher's work this Friday, September 26th

It's the 2014 edition of the Dumbo Arts Festival, and we've got a special treat for you.  Our hard-working, hard-teaching staff get it done in the classroom, but we're also working artists and photographers, putting work in print and in galleries.  Now you can see what we've been working on outside of class this Friday, Sep 26th at 7:30 - 9:30 pm as we present the first BKC Staff Show in conjunction with opening night of the Dumbo Arts Festival.

Featuring new works by DAVID SAMUEL STERN, ALAN WINSLOW, EDDIE McSHANE, CAITLIN McGARRY, JUSTIN WILLIAM LIN, ILIR BAJRAKTARI and KATHLEEN RUGH.

Alan Winslow has been having quite the week, accompanying his live Photoville installation and exhibition of the ongoing Geography of Youth project with Morrigan McCarthy, as well as joining the panel discussion on funding your own art projects, in addition to teaching a kickass Field Guide I on Sunday.  Here's a sneak peak of his new work, entitled 4-H, a portrait series of members of a leadership community in Saratoga, New York with their animals from the county fair:

One of our longest running teachers, Kathy Rugh splits her time between teaching, film and photography work.  Her latest photographic series Never Dark paints a haunting echo of domestic spaces, light shafts and eerie colors.
