Happy Halloween Homies!

Halloween is only three days from now... is your costume ready?!  If you're looking for a little direction on your ensemble you can take a quantifiable approach using Google's handy new microsite Frightgeist, a fun lil' interactive infographic that breaks down the most googled costumes by national and local trends.  It’ll even tell you what is considered an “unusually popular” getup in your area.  Keep in mind that DIY costumes are 100% more fun.

If you're in the Dumbo area this Saturday, come join us for Dumboween, a neighborhood event featuring: The Archway Kids Party from our friends Creatively Wild! Puppets by Great Small Works!  The Annual March to the Arch! A Halloween Costume Ball!  All sponsored by Dumbo.is.  Starting at 4:30 pm on Saturday 10/31, we'll be there with our PortraBox snapping pictures so come decked out in your costume attire and let's have some fun!

Día de los Muertos!
If you feel like taking an international spin on Halloween this year then check out the Day of the Dead closing party for the Frida Kahlo exhibition at New York Botanical Garden on Sat 10/31.  This vibrant Mexican tradition is known for bringing together family and friends to remember loved ones.  The festivities include larger-than-life skeletons, butterflies, and La Catrina the grande dame of this colorful holiday (hand-made by Lucrecia Novoa and performed by Mascaraviva).  TheVillalobos Brothers close out this weekends fiestas at the Garden with performances on October 31st and November 1st.
