Who should take this class?
This workshop is ideal for students and street shooters who are already knowledgable with basic mechanics of the camera (controlling exposure, focus, aperture, shutter speed) and want to develop their technique and experiment with natural light. It's a great class for applying what you've learned in an introductory course like Field Guide I, furthering your understanding of light, learning to work faster on your toes and push your skills to a more intuitive level.
What you will learn
This six-hour workshop connects technical and creative concerns when photographing in the unpredictable nature of the city landscape. A more advanced course, The Street challenges students to get out and use the environment as a working tool, putting their learning to practice by observing and capturing compelling light, colors and compositions. We'll be shooting out on the street, but these skills will help you in any type of photography.
What to bring
Bring your camera and we will provide you with a syllabus and field guide notebook.
If you are not familiar with controlling exposure through aperture, shutter speed and ISO, and generally working in manual mode, we strongly recommend signing up for Field Guide I: The Camera.
