Field Guide I: The Camera

Who should take this class?

All aspiring photographers and hobbyists, travelers, designers, stylists, or anyone who wants to learn a lot about photography but doesn’t have a ton of free time.

What you will learn

Learn all your basic camera operations and get started the right way with a condensed package of essential information.  This one-day workshop will cover all the functions and core concepts you need to know, as well as tips on how to get the kind of shot you want.  We'll be covering the basics of exposure, f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, and dealing with different kinds of light.

We emphasize learning-by-doing, so we'll have class shoots inside and outside to help you apply your newly learned skills to real-world conditions.  This class is more in-depth and immersive than our Crash Course: DSLR+, so that you can better retain information and practice building your muscle memory.

What to bring

Bring your camera and we will provide you with a syllabus and field guide notebook.
