Echo of Another Dawn opening reception

Our vivacious instructor Sally Bozzuto has been working on a 3 year study of photographing dust as a subject in her artistic practice.  Because dust is everywhere and all things become dust; there are few activities that do not result in its creation.  Sally's work explores the substantiality and materiality of a subject that seems to be almost insubstantial, immaterial. Her work will be in a group show Echo of Another Dawn opening this Wednesday June 3rd 7 - 10 pm at City Bird Gallery.

Curated by Marion Guiraud and Marie van Eersel, Echo of Another Dawn begins a quest to revisit and re-evaluate signs and their signifiers, objects and their functions, gestures, and creation. Through collection, mapping, and classification of ephemeral, abandoned, or otherwise forgotten rituals and tales,  the works in the exhibition propose an alternative approach to anthropological narratives and reflect on our conditioned and mythical existence.

STUDENT SHOW - Tuesday July 29th!

We love our Digital Photo I courses because we see incredible strides by students, often without any previous photo background whatsoever.  Our 9-week courses conclude with a wonderful photography exhibition at our space, and we're happy to announce one tomorrow for the current crop of new photographers:

Featuring photos by:  Maura Doyle, Rachel Heslowitz, Leigh Light, Erica Reade, Sarah Rooke, Salmz, Amanda Tedeschi, Sally Voyles, Debbie Vazquez and Mallory Woods.

Come by and check out the great work from our students from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Refreshments will be served, friends and family are welcome!
