[ SAVE 25% ] Essential Lighting & Studio (6 weeks)

With CHARLES LAVOIE

PLEASE NOTE:  This class will move to our new space at 736 Bushwick Avenue at the beginning of April and remain there for the duration of the class.

Description

This methodical approach to learning studio photography begins with analyzing lighting in well-known photographs and breaking down the setups, tools and techniques required to accomplish these images.   Each week we'll tackle one essential factor of lighting, from single-light setups to complex multiple-light setups, using modifiers, backgrounds, and various light sources to deliver precise and amazing results.

Through a combination of theory and practice, you'll learn the techniques used by studio photographers and lighting professionals to mimic sunlight, control shadows and contrast, define subjects, as well as how to create polished, professional studio portraits and high-fashion imagery with in-studio models and subjects.

Who should take this class

Photographers who are adept at using their cameras but want to more deeply explore the technical and creative possibilities of studio lighting are invited to take this accelerated 6-week lab course.  If you would like to practice and expand on your studio skills, you've come to the right place.
