ONLINE: Digital Photo I: The Basics (9 weeks)

  • 736 Bushwick Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11221 (map)

ATTENTION: This class will be offered as scheduled, but we will start the class using an online, live-streaming platform. This will allow us to do full LIVE teaching, with realtime interaction, and customized assignments for possible stay-at-home type work. We are excited to offer this class at a discount of 50% off in response to challenges faced by the health emergency.

Description

Over several weeks we'll be covering all the nuts-to-bolts aspects of exposure, shutter speeds, aperture, ISO, depth of field, motion blur, as well as comparing different lenses and the basics of composition.  Class instruction strongly emphasizes technical understanding and operating in the field, with weekly assignments and critique.

Digital Photo I is a goal-oriented process. Students will learn how to use these skills towards their favorite type of photography and work to perfect their craft by creating a series of final images.

COVID-19 UPDATE: Using live video demonstrations, guided feedback to exercises, screen-sharing for slides and illustrations, and submitted assignments, we’ll be able to translate the great majority of the content from this class to the online format, and develop exciting new content for the medium as well. We look forward to the challenge, and we hope you do too!
