Digital Photo I: The Basics (8 weeks)

  • 736 Bushwick Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11221 (map)

COVID UPDATE: In the interest of health and safety we will be continuing to offer this class via our BKC LIVE online learning platform. Registered students will receive a link to join the class prior to class start time.

Description

We'll be covering all the nuts-to-bolts aspects of exposure, shutter speeds, aperture, ISO, depth of field, motion blur, as well as comparing different lenses and the basics of composition.  Class instruction strongly emphasizes technical understanding, but we also hope to spark your creative expression and even offer a new way of seeing the world around you.

This course features challenging exercises, weekly creative assignments, and thought-provoking feedback and critique.  Using streaming and broadcasting equipment, we’re able to put you inside the viewfinder of our studio camera, showing you how the camera responds in real time, with real camera settings.

Digital Photo I is a goal-oriented process. Students will learn how to use these skills towards their favorite type of photography and work to perfect their craft by creating a series of final images.
