Photo Café: Picturing Mental Health

This conversation will focus on photographers who live with mental illness, the work they create and its relationship to their health. How does one balance self-care with work in a competitive industry? This discussion will give us a better understanding of those living with mental illness and provide us with some insight to care for our own mental health.

Featured guest speakers include:

Joey SolomonDana Stirling, and Marion Aguas

All talks are free with a suggested $5 donation. RSVP now to reserve your seat as this event is open to the public and fills up fast.

Photo Café: talks on photography is a conversation series about photography with industry professionals. Here we talk about topics such as analogue photography, education, getting your work seen, and opportunity while also digging deeper to address the impact of systemic inequality.

Photo Café is a community program open to everyone. We encourage our audience to ask questions, network, and join us in our conversations to create better industry standards for everyone.

Photo Café is a SeeC x BKC Production; Seeing Collective (SeeC) and BKC, a community-focused photography and creative education center, partnered to host this public programming.

Accessibility: BKC is on the ground floor with a half step into the classroom. However, our bathroom is four steps down into the basement. We will do all that we can to make our space accessible to you. Please be in touch with any accessibility concerns/feedback.
