*online now*

‘*online now*’ is a self portrait series consisting of 20-30 images of varying dimensions, integrating photography with text, 3D renders, and found objects from the internet. This series focuses on the relationship between technology and performativity, our ‘internet persona’ and our ‘authentic’ self; it examines the way I interact with the camera lens as it intersects with my identities, and the way that others people’s perception of us affects our perception of ourselves. ‘*online now*’ explores the relationship between the body and the self as seen through a racialized, fetishized lens, focusing on my experience and feelings as a Chinese-American queer nonbinary person.
