About Heather

Heather Lynch is a first-generation Trinidadian-American photographer and filmmaker born and raised in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Heather has always been passionate about using her camera to empower those around her and deeply understand the complexities of beauty and representation. Drawing from her own experiences, Heather aims to honor her subjects using her sacred lens to create a space where they are free of stereotypes to create their own identities. Additionally, she is committed to shifting the misrepresentation of marginalized communities, starting with those in her own. Heather is furthering her knowledge within photography by obtaining her certification at the International Center of Photography in Creative Practice. With previous works featured in the youth panel held at Photoville 23’ and exhibited at ICP. Heather aims to continue to create positive representation for her community and work that touches many across the world.
