Description

We’re all staying closer to home, so now’s the time to spark creativity with what’s around us. How do you find inspiration to be creative in your every day? How can you capture a small, personal document of your life in these extraordinary times?

This 6-week online course will take you through the steps of making a short video documenting your daily surroundings. Turn your camera towards your home or neighborhood and explore how to use composition, image progression, and sound design to create a video that not only acts as a document of your surroundings, but one that also evokes the mood of this moment.

Through weekly virtual classes we’ll cover the primary technical elements of your camera in video mode, the fundamentals of video editing, and the basics of audio recording. Students can use any camera, whether DSLR, Mirrorless, or cell phone cameras. You’ll walk away with a short video (2-minutes or less) that captures a piece of your life and acts as a stepping stone for further video journeys.
